Special Occasion Dinner Recipe

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4 big servings

1 medium onion, chopped

1 1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons olive oil

6 ounces Fakin Bacon, chopped

1/4 cup dry white wine

3 Tablespoons butter

1 Tablespoon Nutritional yeast

2  Tablespoons flour

Salt and pepper

Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions:
Sautee the onion in 1 tablespoons oilve oil until the onion is soft and translucent. Add the second tablespoon of oil and the Fakin Bacon and sautee until the FB browns and gets crispy. Turn up the flame and deglaze the pan with with wine. Sautee until the wine evaporates and remove the FB mixture from the flame.
Melt the EB in a large saucepan over medium heat. Warm the nondairy milk in the microwave. Once the EB is melted and sizzling, whisk in the nutrional yeast and the flour, whisking quickly. Add the warmed “milk” and continue whisking until it thickens. Add the Fakin bacon and keep warm over a low heat while you prepare the pasta. Prepare the pasta (according to directions) and drain. If the carbonara mixture is too thick, add some heated water to thin. Add salt to taste. Add the sauce to the pasta or serve the pasta and top with the sauce. Top with chopped basil and serve with a salad or side of spinach.
