There is no consensus on this, but research shows that too much soy protein is linked to breast cancer. There is still a lot of debate and controversy over this, but I think that anything that mimics estrogen in access is bad for you. The only thing we do know is that estrogen DOES cause breast cancer. So far, the assumption is that the soy estrogen link is a myth. So what is a vegetarian to do? I am extremely health conscious, so I stopped eating all soy altogether. I realized that the soy is mostly in very processed foods such as veggie meat and veggie burgers and patties. So I did more research…

Soy mimics estrogen only in certain ways and so the theory was started that it would therefore increase the chance of breast cancer. So far, this is not scientifically proven. There are no  conclusive links. I think it might be better to study the circumstances from a different angle. If you take a look at countries and people around the world where soy is a very large part of their diet, for instance China and Japan, you’ll find that there are lower levels of heart disease and cancer. So Soy does not cause cancer, but there is a link so you should be careful. There was a test done on meat called the China Study and they proved that meat causes cancer. Whatever the case may be, it’s important to study why North America has higher incidences of cancer, especially breast cancer, than any other part of the world.

There is also a link to wearing bras. Think about it, people in Africa don’t get breast cancer and they do not wear bras. Do you get my point?
